Bauer Nike Ice Hockey Skates
Help with my Nike Bauer xxii skates?
I bought a pair of Nike Bauer xxii skates about 3 months ago and play a considerable amount of hockey (lucky they don’t kick me off of the ice I’m there so much). I’ve had these skates baked twice and still can’t get the pain from the insides and outsides of my feet. I’ve tried to tie them tight and loose and still can’t get rid of it. The pain is so severe that I can’t walk for 15 mins after I get off of the ice. I’ve emailed the Nike Bauer support and they keep giving me the run around. HELP!
I would try some custom insoles… ie. superfeet or the shock doctor heat moldable insoles.
If those don’t work, then the Nike Bauer skates aren’t for you, period. I know from experience my feet hurt a lot after skating in the Nike Vapor line of skates. Try Easton skates – they are generally wider than the Nike’s. I have Easton’s right now with the new insoles and its awesome.
If worse comes to worse and wider skates don’t work, it may be because you have weird feet and skates in general are pushing on certain pressure points. If that is the case, you can get professional skate shops to look at your feet, and they can punch out holes in certain parts of the skate that is pressing on the pressure points. (They do this for ski boots too). This is the more expensive way to go, and your skates don’t last long, but if you’re playing so much, its an investment in your health. Having your feet hurt for that long isn’t a good thing and can mess you up for later on.
