Hockey Skates Blade Cover

Can you sharpen ice skates with a little bit of rust on them?
I have hockey skates that I haven’t used for about 2 years. I want to start going ice skating again, but noticed that there’s just a little bit of rust, a very thin layer on the lower part of the side of the blades. It doesn’t even cover all the blade, just a little bit.
Can I get these skates sharpened? Will that take care of the little bit of rust?
Get them sharpened, it will take care of the rust.
I had some rust on my skates, had them sharpened, and the rust is gone. Just be sure to dry the blade completely when you are done skating, this prevents rust.
