Hockey Skates Chart

Should I get a smaller sized skate?
I just ordered a pair of the 2008 CCM U+’s online (not the greatest idea, I know). Anyways, I get them, try them on, and walk around a little and the first thing I notice is my heel slightly raises in both feet. I wear a size 9.5-10 shoe depending on the brand and these skates are 8’s. My question is should I go down to a 7.5? The sizing chart online says that the 8 should fit but I’m not feeling it. I kinda wanna make the right decision here not just because of my future in hockey but shipping back and forth costs money.
Another thing is my left foot in slightly smaller than my right and therefore a tad looser in the size 8. What I’m worried about is the heel issue. Also I here that the U+’s react well when baked, and when the skates stretch when I break them in the boot should only get larger so I don’t know about getting the 8’s.
How they fit in a proshop floor and how they will perform on the ice are completely different matters. See if you can try on a pair in 7.5 if you wear thin / dress socks
(as opposed to tube or athletic) you might be able to make it work. Some people
skate barefoot, from my experience you do get a better feel for the ice that way,
but it breaks down the materials faster.
