Hockey Skates Comparisons

How to make hockey more appealing to new fans?
The Zednik incident put hockey on the sportscenter map, just like any cheap shot resulting in suspension. Unfortunately it paled in comparison to this historic event:
“Malarchuk…was in goal for the Buffalo Sabres on March 22, 1989. St. Louis Blues forward Steve Tuttle was flipped upside down in the crease, his skate flying up and slicing Malarchuk’s jugular vein…At the time, there were reports that 11 fans fainted and two more had heart attacks when Malarchuk’s macabre accident took place. Three players vomited on the ice.”
These are the results fans want to see more of. Nobody comes to games to watch a piece of rubber bounce around, they come for the brawls. Better yet, brawls with full beheadings, not partial ones. How can hockey become more gladiator-esque and less ice dancing?

How about an all-out war on the ice? Like the movie “Gladiator” only have it in an arena.
The general population in the entire world is fixated on gore and cruelty. That’s why you can’t pick up a newspaper and read anything uplifting or inspiring…it’s all about crime and injustice in the world.
