Hockey Skates Narrow Width
Bauer Supreme One70 skates or Bauer Vapor X:40 skates?
I need new hockey skates. My foot width is between narrow and normal. I don’t have enough money to buy Bauer’s top of the line skates so here are my choices. The Supreme One70 for $289, or the Vapor X:40’s for $329. I am 5′8” and weigh about 130lbs. I am a quick skater and play forward (normally left wing) on the high school hockey team. I am a freshman playing on varsity. which skate do you think would be best for me.
Ok i might be able to pull off getting the Vapor X:50’s or the Supreme One80. Please give opinions all choices.
The Vapor X:50’s are $470 and the Supreme One80’s are $400.
Well, they’re both Bauer so they will both fit the same, and Bauer makes some good skates. I got me a pair of the Supreme Totalone, and they’re sick. I’ve rocked vapors for years, but the Supreme is a good skate my friend. They’re lighter, and they fit my feet well. I mean, it’s all about how you like them. I say go with the Supreme’s they’re a good skate, light, promote faster skating (I guess), and they look sick. Make sure you get them profiled though and tell them you’re a forward so they got some slight lean forward…if you don’t know what that means your hockey shop will, if they don’t know what that means, don’t let them touch your skates. Also get your skates sharpened by a professional, not some 16 year old at the local rink. If you have your wheels (skates) maintained properly, you will actually be a better skater…Why do you think pros always have their skates being sharpened? Because you want optimal performace out of your skates, and you can only achieve that when they’re maintained all the time. Do yourself a favor and take care of your skates, get a stone, check for burrs, have a talk with your local hockey shop guy ask him tips on what to do, and your teammates will thank you when you’re scoring those shorty breakaways.
