how is skating effected using synthetic ice?
i sure hope this technology doesn’t replace real ice EVER. unfortunately if it is the most cost effective alternative to real ice people will use it! and rinks around the country will close down.
i fear this will lead to the total demise of real ice hockey rinks in america, with something, (the skating, the aesthetics, the tradition) being compromised in the process.
how does it feel to make a quick cut or hockey stop? it cant be close to the same feeling.
Synthetic ice is not really that good to skate on. It is not good for the blades. It can ruin the edges really quickly.
It will never completely replace ice rinks! :] Trust me on this! People won’t be completely using synthetic ice!
Hockey stops are really hard to do! I think the main point of synthetic ice to practice passing or some other things that you need ice to use – not to completely replace it.
It is okay I prefer to do it on real ice. I isn’t the same feeling but if it is synthetic ice or nothing I would choose synthetic
