Ice Hockey Skates Thickness
Twin Cities, Minnesota Ice Thickness?

Is it safe enough to play pond hockey in the Twin Cities yet? I live right by DT Minneapolis and I really wanna try out my hockey skates and play some pickup pond hockey this weekend. Can anybody give me a distinct, yes or no answer about it and not a silly “I don’t know, go check xxx place”? Thank you.

BTW, the lakes I’m looking for if questioned are Calhoun, Powderhorn or Loring Lake in Minneapolis or maybe Como in Saint Paul (My studio is right by Como Park).

Thanks and happy skating!

If you go to the City of Minnesota’s website and look under their recreation Department, they should have lake thickness and safety listed somewhere.
If not then go to theweathernetwork.com and if you navigate around in there for awhile you can also find it.

They may even have a number to call-my city does, that lists all the lakes and their ice thickness. Although my cities slogan is “The City of Lakes”

Here is the city website-LMAO- your city is also called the City of Lakes. http://www.ci.minneapolis.mn.us/
