pickup handball goal?
i know the official goal is huge, but me and my friends want to start playing pickup handball. were gonna pitch in and buy a hockey net to use as a goal, but dont no what size to get. Im not sure if the 72 inch, regulation NHL size goal would be to big to use, and Im not sure if the 54 inch goal the sell at dicks would be too small. I want the games to be competitive, so I dont want goals being scored left and right, but I dont want it being impossible to score on a tiny goal either.
regulation goals are 3m (118 inches) wide X 2m (79 inches) tall. These may be somewhat large for pickup hand ball so if you wanted to go somewhere in the 80 inches wide X 60 inches tall it might be more competitive. but i believe that you will find that the regulation goals arent as big as they seem as you get better at goal keeping. its a long way to shoot and its sometimes hard to generate a lot of power from that distance when good defense is played.
