Roller Hockey Skates Outdoor
Roller Hockey: Skates Question?
Right now I have outdoor skates, would it be possibley to buy indoor wheels and put them on my outdoor skates or do I need to buy a whole new pair and are their skates that can go on both surfaces?
Oh and for roller hockey how can I imrpove my overall game playing. I play foward (right/left wing) what are some good practice drills I can do to imrpove my game and what are some good tips and pointers to remember well playing the game. I have been playing roller hockey for almost 3 years now and I really want to take my g ame to the next level.
Oh and I forgot to ask, what are some good ways to practice back skating and then shifting back to skating foward, I’m a little shakey skating backwards so I would like to improve in that area also.
Oh and yes my outdoor skates have laces..
I should’ve said my outdoor skates are hockey skates, they’re mission 500’s.
The important thing about skates is the wheels. Indoor wheels are softer and give you more grip on the sport court surfaces. Outdoor wheels are harder and will last longer on the cement surfaces. As long as your skates are a decent brand such as Bauer, CCM, Mission, etc you will be able to use them indoor or outdoor as long as you have the proper wheels. The best thing to do to get better is to just keep playing. Drills such as skating around cones while carrying the puck will always help. One thing that I did was to just stand still and move the puck back and forth in front of me without looking down at the puck. This will get you comfortable with not looking down while playing and allow you to see the floor better. If you’re looking only at the puck you won’t see defenders until too late and you won’t see open teammates to pass to.
