Roller Hockey Skates Tour
What is the best way to increase stamina when playing roller hockey?
I haven’t played roller hockey in 5 years. I recently joined a league and players are skating circles around me, I’m exhausted after the first period. I’m also very slow and uneasy when skating. I have trouble stopping and staying on my feet. I bought a pair of Tour code 1’s which have the xsoft wheels and I use them on an outside hockey rink as well as the indoor court for my league. I find it difficult to relate to the two because the courts are so different; the out door rink is very slick while the indoor is sport court. Does anyone have any advice that can help me? Thank you
Skate Skate Skate. Practice Practice Practice. Hockey is a very tiring sport as I guess you should know if you have played before and you are now 5 years older and 5 years ?heavier? ?out of shape?. So get some time in on your own or in practice and skate your heart out.
When you do practice try and replicate in your head the real game so that you are putting in the same intensity.
And the slow and uneasy is just skating rust. Just need to get used to your balance. Your body learns over time with muscle memory when you want to stop or turn spin . . . whatever . . . how to do it. You get the feeling where you just think it and it happens perfectly weight transfers etc. and you didnt even really think about it. So just do it and practice real game situations and the turns breaks stops you want to do then.
