HC Slavia Praha (Prague) played in the team of 14 Czech O2 Extraliga. This season, which ended in the middle, 7 on the calendar season of 52 regular season games. Tomas Kurka played for the Plymouth Whalers for the 1999-00 and 2000-01 seasons. Kurka is the only one of five graduates of the OHL HC Slavia Praha hasa played professional hockey in North America. Thomas was a second round selection of the Carolina Hurricanes in 2000. Appeared in 17 games in two seasons with the Hurricanes before heading to Europe for the 2004-05 season of the strike NHL. He played in Finland, Sweden and Czech Republic home.
